Multiple Winter Works
Silt Pump with semi-permeable membranes
Over the winter we undertook a number of silt pumping jobs where it was necessary to erect temporary membranes in order to catch silt. These membranes are perfect
for use when the surrounding area is not flat enough to be able to place de-silting bags. These membranes will now stay until the silt has completely dried in the
warmer months, where it can be removed completely and the silt either taken away or left to green over
Work for Water Utility Company
Silt Pump with Additional Processes to Turn Silt into 'Cake'
It is sometimes necessary to remove the silt from site altogether. In this project we worked at a water utitlites site alongside a company that specialise in processing silt.
Here, we pumped into a tank which was then processed and
turned into 'silt cake'. This was then deposited in a managable container ready to be removed from site altogether.
North England Nature Reserve
Silt pump used alongside a permiable membrane (Teram) over a wood/soil bund
In this project we were asked to remove silt from a small watercourse in order to increase water depth and keep the waterway open. Having already performed a reed clearance,
we then pumped the open area. Once filled, the bund was left to drain. This process was repeated and over a few days many tonnes were removed from the watercourse. This was then left to
green over in the summer months
Welsh Valleys
Grab Bucket
Here we used a grab bucket to remove areas of silt that had built up around a public pond and had become unsightly. This was done alongside other works in the pond
Preston
Silt Pump and Geotextile Barrier
This project was undertaken on a private pond that needed desilting. A barrier was set up on some unused land owned by the client, which was then pumped behind. Once the silt
had drained of water and set, the
membrane was removed and the silt was left to green over in the warmer months
